Mga Babae (The Girls)
Mga sandal, bag, manicure, pedicure, mga laki.
Mao ra ba gyud kini ang ka busyhan sa mga bayi prmi?
Manglibak, magtsmis gkan buntag hng2d gabii!
Hala, kining mga babaye, wla gyud pul-i!
Mawagtang, mahanaw arun dli nasab magtukaw
Sa pagpaabut sa sakit nga unta mulakaw.
(A random piece)
This is a Visayan poem.
This poem talks about girls who loves gossiping and doing all those mundane and trivial stuff like manis, pedis and boys almost all day everyday, from night til day. Yet they somehow want to do those anyway. However, this also says that the latter things mentioned is not the way we measure a girl. This poem was made out of annoyance of the physical pain that keeps you up all night (i.e. all girls have been experiencing) and when will it disappear eventually.
ARE YOU THERE?
Are you there?
If you are, can you dare?
To sweep me off my feet
With the irregular hearbeat
I can’t manage to bear.
Are you there?
If you are, then get past the scurry
And to me, please be hurry.
For every time you delay,
My heart shrinks like a fay.
Are you sure you’re there?
If you really are, then don’t tear
My already withered pear
For I’m still hopeful for my pair.
Please be sure that you’re there.
My unpredictable sun,
To clear away my wroths
And fill it with innocuous fun.
Lord, be sure to bring him here
In my vessel so mere
Yet full of incognito treasures
That only you — whoever you are — can truly measure.
THE FRIENDSHIP AND THE OTHER --SHIP
You think you’re so high & mighty?
That you could even understand me?
That you could even understand me?
Have you even tried surfing my soul?
Before concluding that you understand my sore?
I don’t even comprehend
These thousand bruises I can’t mend.
Why do you torture my soul?
This soul inside a bowl.
Can’t you see?
It’s hurting me!
Please don’t be like that
It scares me enough.
All I need is temporary escapes
From the two suns’ capes—
Of friendship and the other —ship.
Give me time to suppress
The —ship that’s inept.
After all, you are the very first one to dress
The word SUPPRESS in kept.
But do not be alarmed, dear.
For our friendship is very dear
That even I can’t dare to bind.
And so I’ll be back very kind
after separating the friendship
from the other —ship.
